US (AZ): Seminar on advances in controlled environment agriculture

"A scientist is always in quest of new information, challenging ideas, and the application of new technologies to one’s own research and teaching endeavors. And so, over the past year, or so, I have had the opportunity and privilege of travelling across the globe in search of these exciting experiences as they relate to Controlled Environment Agriculture", says Danae Pantoja, Program Coordinator of the Controlled Environment Agriculture Center at the University of Arizona.

This short announcement should peak your interests and remind you of the continuation of the Covering Environments Seminar series at CEAC (1950 E Roger Rd, Tucson). The first speaker this semester is travelling leader Professor Murat Kacira who late last semester was asked to lead the CEAC enterprise as its Director when renowned previous director Prof. Gene Giacomelli retired from this position while returning full bore to his research and teaching endeavors.

The CEAC seminars typically take place on the last Friday of each month during the academic semester. "We start by inviting our interdisciplinary audience to a networking and get acquainted session beginning at 3:45p. Refreshments are always served and we expect each of you to partake of both items", Danae explains.

The seminar itself begins promptly (presentations are webcast) at 4:15pm and lasts about 50 minutes followed by Q&A.

"We hope very much that you will return, and bring newcomers from your circle of colleagues, students and friends, to our varied presentations all focused on Controlled Environment Agriculture."
