AVAG and Dutch Greenhouse Delta are going to work together

Getting global attention for greenhouse technology to feed the world population

During the AVAG general meeting on Thursday the 28th of June in the tree centrum in Baarn, the AVAG chairman Harm Maters and DGD chairman Hein van der Sande reached a partnership agreement. With this cooperation, they will increase the opportunities in the international market for the Greenhouse technology domain together, with the ambition to provide the growing world population with fresh food of good quality and produced in a sustainable manner.

The market for Greenhouse technology has changed drastically in recent years. The demand for sustainably produced fresh foods has increased. This can be seen in the recent worldwide demand for Dutch Greenhouse technology projects.

AVAG chairman Harm Maters: “Despite the strong demand for Dutch quality it remains important that we as the Dutch sector keep working on brand awareness, added values, and new concepts. Developing a market label for Dutch Greenhouse technology is a must. Dutch Greenhouse Delta (DGD) is a univocal label that we have brought to market together targeting the international market. The DGD foundation has as their mission to bring the DGD label to the market and to exploit it as a recognized market label in the global marketplace.”

International activities
AVAG tells us why it is important to have a good label for the Dutch Greenhouse technology sector. “As a pioneer in this sector, it is important to form coalitions and together acknowledge the complex international issues. The greenhouse technology market is booming worldwide. The DNA of the global horticulture is in the Netherlands. By working with DGD we can offer a complete package worldwide. We combine our strengths so we can act on complex international issues regarding the feeding of Megacities.”
