Russia: 100+ hectare greenhouse complex to be built in Rostov region

A new greenhouse complex valued at 88 million euros will be built near Rostov.

The greenhouse will be used for growing tomatoes, cucumbers and lettuce. The complex of 116 ha will be located in the Salsk area of the region. The capacity of the first phase is expected to be 8 thousand tons of tomatoes a year.

The produce will be delivered to the south of the Russian Federation and to the Moscow region. The amount of investments in the project will comprise 21.6 million euros, and overall capital spending will amount to 88 million euros.

“A part of the land will be dedicated to the greenhouses, another to the general utilities and one more to the administrative buildings. We are planning to complete the first phase of the project by 2021”, reported Ms. Elena Naymak, founder of the greenhouse complex Salsky.
