High volume ventilation in warm areas

With the GreenTech coming up this month we're getting in touch with several horticultural intellectuals, entrepreneurs, innovators and general greenhouse geeks. Today Vostermans tells us more on how a screen producer converted into a key player in creating better climates in greenhouses.

What is your contribution to the advancement of the global horticulture industry?
As developer and manufacturer of axial fans, we collaborate with other experts in the horticulture industry. Together with research institutes and growers, we developed new solutions that are part of new cultivation techniques. For you as a grower our products and innovations help:
Create a more successful cultivation due to good fit with daily practice
Create a uniform grow throughout the greenhouse
Save money over time by using efficient as well as reliable products

What would you say is the most important topic in horticulture at the moment?
In the horticulture industry, it is an ongoing trend to create an optimized production at maximum energy efficiency. With this in mind, we developed multiple fan solutions for the horticulture industry, which we will present at the Greentech in Amsterdam.

What will you be doing at the GreenTech? Will you present any novelties during the trade show?
At the Greentech we will present our dedicated greenhouse fan solutions, the Multifan Greenhouse Circulation Fan and Multifan V-FloFan. These solutions help optimize your productivity, as they:
Reduce the negative impacts high humidity creates.
Create a more optimal and uniform microclimate on plant level.

We will also show our Galvanized box fan series which can be used for high volume ventilation in warm areas, and are also very suitable for use as part of “pad and fan” systems to cool greenhouses in warm and dry areas. Would you like to learn more?

What project that you are currently involved in are you most proud of?
Several years ago, we have developed, in close cooperation with Wageningen University & Research and several leading growers, a fan that creates a vertical airflow: The V-FloFan.
This fan is nowadays a vested part of new greenhouse ventilation systems, as well as being perfectly suited as a stand-alone solution for vertical air circulation. We are very proud of this solution, as growers experience a more uniform grow throughout the greenhouse.

How do you see the future of horticulture?
In future, we will see more and more climate solutions that are based on thorough research and technological developments. Solutions will be very specific for the horticulture industry taking in mind energy efficiency, environmental impact, noise and individual needs of the growers.

Vostermans is to exhibit at booth 12.510 at the GreenTech exhibition June 12-13-14 in Amsterdam. The GreenTech summit will take place June 11th.
