France: Filpack presents the Agrifast Tom-System at the Sival show
The Tom System is a new tying method which holds the crop to the twine using a staple. The advantage compared to plastic clipping or twisting is the speed: it is possible to clip 40% faster, with an average of 1400 plants/hour
Agrifast has chosen Filpack as the exclusive distributor of the Tom System for France, where there is an important greenhouse tomato sector, with more than 1000 hectares
Filpack is one of the most important horticultural companies in France, and has presented the Tom System for the French market in the Sival Horticultural Show, in Angers, France (14-16 January)
Philippe Augenie, manager of Filpack Agricole, explains why they have decided to distribute the product: “we are always looking for new products for the greenhouse sector, and in our opinion, the Tom System is a great opportunity to improve the economics of the greenhouse growers, reducing their labour costs”. In fact, France it is a country where the salaries in the agricultural sector are high, with gross costs of over 10 Euro/hour.
According to Alberto Lizarraga, the product manager of the Tom System, “for us to work with Filpack is a great possibility. It is a very well-known company in the French horticultural sector and they are very enthusiastic about the possibilities of the product in this market. We expect to be as successful as in the Netherlands”
