First Russian mushroom compost plant under construction

A plant producing compost for the mushroom greenhouse of agricultural company Vyborzhets, will appear in the Luzhsky area in the Leningrad region. The enterprise will be the first of its kind in Russia. Construction will begin in 2018 and the production unit will be launched in 2019.

About 35 employees will be working at the plant. The planned productivity is 40 thousand tons of compost a year and the realization of the project will cost 24.5 thousand euros, AB News reports.

The compost plant is part of the greenhouse complex Vyborzhets is constructing for mushroom cultivation in the Leningrad region. The overall cost of the mushroom production enterprise will be 74.8 thousand euros, the planned capacity being 10 thousand tons of mushrooms a year.
