NL: Floating solar park nearing completion

Led by the Lingewaard Energie co-operative, Tenten Solar Zonnepanelen is building a unique floating solar park. In recent weeks the cabling, which forms the connection between the transformer and the (power) distribution boxes, has been installed and a large number of the floating solar panels have been placed in the water. At the moment, more than 2,300 solar panels are floating in the irrigation pond of NEXTgarden (formerly the Bergerden horticulture area).

A special moment also was the placement of the transformer. The nearby established Wido crane company was called in to spectacularly install the transformer complete with housing in one go on the existing foundation. The total weight amounts to no less than 14 tons. Via this transformer the solar power will soon be put on the public power grid.

Crowdfunding
The project group was very pleased with the high turnout during the organized construction site visits for the crowdfunders. After all, the financing of the solar park was made possible by a large group of crowdfunders from the region. The visitors were impressed by the size of the project and the amount of work that is needed to realize such a venture.

Every day the solar park gets a bit bigger. For the project team, this means that the activities shift towards supervision and receiving visitors on location. It is possible to view the progress of the work. This can be done from the road, but if you want to visit the construction site, you must inform the project team in advance. It concerns a building site where safety rules apply and that is not freely accessible.
