New protection for SWD and other small insects

ScoringAg Polyester UV Covers are a physical barrier to insects and worms, preventing infection without sprays or poisons of any kind.

ScoringAg Polyester UV Covers are strong and stretchy. They are made out of special woven polyester fiber which is patented and manufactured only for ScoringAg. The white fabric is stretchable, flexible, indestructible and reusable.

The most economical solution are ScoringAg TreeCovers or TreeTubes to keep the damaging insects out and use them for 10+ years. One time investment compared to sprays. Spray goes off into the air and if you don’t get a free refill from the chemical company you have to pay for every time you spray, even if it doesn’t work on resistant insects. Farmers and growers are loosing big money by using sprays.

By covering individual trees or canes the cost per acre with 223 trees is between $ 2,700 and $ 4,900 depending on diameter and length of a TreeTube. To cover 1 acre with TreeCover cost about $11,000.00.

ScoringAg’s polyester fabric serves also as a wind, frost and heat control. Large raindrops are broken into a mist, preventing heavy rain damage, even hail just bounces off. It keeps wildlife away and speeds up the ripening of fruits by 2 weeks. Trees grow 2-3 times faster in TreeTubes without extra fertilizer and providing income sooner then in uncovered trees or crops.

ScoringAg’s polyester fabric is suitable for:
  • individual trees or canes
  • rows of trees/bushes
  • high tunnels or hoop houses
The material is tested by the University of Florida for the Asian citrus psyllid that causes HLB. It works also to keep Spotted Wing Drosophila (SWD) and other small insects out and can be used as an additional layer to existing screens that are not fine enough or replacing plastic or polypropylene material that gets easily damaged.
