Successful gathering in De Ruiter Experience Center

"Rather introduce a new type in detail then to do it fast"

On Wednesday the 6th of June a great many interested people went to the new De Ruiter Experience Center in Bleiswijk for the gathering regarding exposed cultivation. Representatives of the cultivation, plant propagation, advisory and from the florist industry had the opportunity to have an exchange of opinions in regards to the current and future state of cultivation.

Of course there was a lot of talk about the new choices in types in cultivation but the opportunity to participate in the two seminars was also used to the fullest. In these seminars Arno Moerman of Koppert Biological Control gave a clear direction to go in, in regard to optimum integrated crop protection. De Ruiter: “His vision was very realistic and to the point”. This was appreciated.”

Namely tros, cocktail and premium cherry (pruim) segment where looked into when talking about types. De Ruiter: "Visitors where very impressed by the both short and long term pipelines for these segments. It is becoming obvious that “speed to market” is not appreciated by most of the growers and florists. Extended experience of eventual replacements of an existing type are becoming more and more of a necessary.”
