The Strawberry Breeding Club at NIAB EMR aims to breed varieties with overlapping seasons which produce high yields of excellent quality fruit. The objective is also to develop selections which offer pest and disease resistance and display their fruit in a way which is easier and quicker to pick, thereby reducing labour costs.
