June 12-14, Amsterdam

TOFF excursion will tour innovative organic farms in North Holland

Where can vegetable growers learn about the most promising innovations and technologies for better organic farming? At TOFF, the Organic Farmers Fair. From Tuesday, 12 June, through Thursday, 14 June, Bejo will have a stand at the RAI Amsterdam Convention Centre to exchange insights with organic growers, talk about our vision of organic farming, and share all the latest technological developments. The fair will take place concurrently with the horticulture innovation fair GreenTech.

TOFF is the ideal place for Bejo to showcase its latest developments in breeding and technology. Bejo representatives will be on hand to discuss breeding for resistance in a range of varieties, such as Redlander, the first organic Rijnsburger red onion with mildew resistance, and Manzu, a rhizomania-resistant beetroot. The breeder will also give special attention to B-Mox, a seed enhancing formula that stimulates plant growth at the earliest stages for better plant health.

To learn even more, fair visitors can sign up for a specially organized English ‘Bejo organic farm tour’ to view local organic operations. The tour will take visitors by bus from the RAI to Lepelaar Biodynamic Farm Shop, Huiberts Organic Flower Bulbs, and Bejo. The visit to Bejo includes a tour of the seed processing facility, a lunch, and a look at organic varieties on the company's trial fields.

At TOFF Bejo will take part in several symposia, including a panel discussion on the acceptance of technology in plant breeding. They will also discuss their vision of the future of organic seed breeding, under the title ‘Breeding for organic or organic breeding?’.

Bejo is a founding partner of The Organic Farmers Fair, an international trade show devoted to knowledge and innovation. Although the fair is being held this year for the first time, a high turnout is expected, given the large demand within the sector for an international organic trade fair for farmers. You can find Bejo June 12-14 at stand T08.100 in RAI Amsterdam.
