On Wednesday, May 23, the pond liner was pulled into the new water basin at NoordVliet. "This is quite a big challenge with such a large liner sheet and at least 75 people, who all have to do the same thing simultaneously.
"The water that will fill the pond, is collected through the gutters on the greenhouse (rainwater) and is used for our plants.
"The water basin is 145 × 45 meters and in total there will be 8 units, so we can collect sufficient water for the cultivation of our tomatoes. The water that the plant does not absorb to grow, is collected and re-circulated. So nothing, nothing at all will be wasted. Sustainability is something we strive for in everything that we do."
