Medfel 2018

"Good and interesting exhibition with productive meetings"

This week the French fruit and vegetable industry gathered in Perpignan for the tenth edition of Medfel. International exhibitors were also present. Visitors and exhibitors described the exhibition as “good and interesting” and as “quiet, but valuable”. Lots of them also experienced the exhibition as a large-scale meeting between acquaintances during which they could catch up. This was reflected in countless informal conversations between exhibitors. Medfel is also known for its numerous meetings between companies and possible clients and partners.

Apart from garlic, onions and shallots (the “stars” of Medfel 2018), special attention was paid to organic products. This is no surprise, since there is a massive and ongoing expansion of organic production in France. Medfel presented an organic market where visitors could admire the organic range offered by exhibitors.

Companies that participate in the pesticide-free “Zero résidu de pesticides” label are part of the Collectif Nouveaux Champs, a collective of companies that want to create a residue-free offer and hope to develop the consummation of fruits and vegetables in France. Companies that participate and were present at Medfel are, among others, Blue Whale, Pom’Alliance, Force Sud, Origine Cévennes, Soldive, Primland, Touquet Savour and Top’Alliance.
