UK: Underground-grown salad mixes come to Waitrose

Growing Underground has announced its launch into Waitrose. To start Waitrose are stocking two of their five salad mixes: Italian and English.

Italian Mix – A blend of fresh pea shoots, subtle garlic chives and punchy rocket. This mix picks up on the famous flavours of Italy, with a hint of wild garlic and the peppery intensity of rocket. This salad can be a meal in itself but can also benefit with the addition of a creamy mozzarella or as a side to any main.

English Mix – A mix of fresh pea shoots, broccoli cress and red mustard leaves. This blend contains broccoli shoots, that hold a more subtle flavour than its root veg cousin, and red mustard leaves that give you the tease and slight heat reminiscent of a mild english mustard.
