Greenhouse complex in Komsomolsk has past 1 ha

The enterprise Agricomplex Vostok has officially launched the third phase of the greenhouse complex in Komsomolsk-on-Amur. The project started in 2014, when lettuce, greenery and cucumbers began to be grown over 2 ha, reports IA Khabarovsk Region Today. At the moment the enterprise are using 1.1 ha of greenhouses and in 2017 the produce has amounted in 164.3 tons of vegetables.

“Komsomosk is an industrial city and is considered to be the industrial capital and defense centre of the Far East but it is important that agriculture in developed here too”, claimed the governor of Khabarovsk region Mr. Vyacheslav Shport in the official opening ceremony of the third phase. “It is challenging to develop the agriculture here in the area of risk farming but the team who are dealing with the greenhouses dared to start. There was little trust in them in the beginning but I had my hopes with them. We helped them allot a land plot and they completed the first phase of the project. When they asked about the expansion, we were wondering if they were rushing headlong. I do respect those who keep their promises, we kept ours and they did theirs, today the city has fresh vegetables and they are supplied even to the northern areas of the region. It is a good story and a good perspective, with such a tendency we should be able to supply neighbouring regions and internationally.

According to the plans of the general director of LLC Agricomplex Vostok, Mr. Anton Kolyada, by 2025 the acreage of the greenhouse will have reached 6 ha and the production of greenery and vegetables will leap from 300 tons of today to 3140 tons. In the first quarter of 2018, 38 tons of produce have been sold.

“It is a giant stimulus to work when one feels support from all sides, from the family and the government”, says Mr. Kolyada. “In the contemporary economics there develops some mysterious types of business, such as cryptocurrencies for instance. However, here, in Komsomolsk, we enjoy creating the real value, making proper goods, building proper airplanes and growing proper cucumbers. We are really thankful for having the land, the transformer substation that was arranged upon our request and allowed us to avoid issues with energy supply. We are not stopping at what we have achieved; we are aiming at a high volume and at creating new work places.”

As of today, the enterprise produces 300 tons per year and employs 25 people with the average salary of 450 Euro. By 2025 Agricomplex Vostok are planning to provide employment to 120 specialists with the average salary of 660 Euro and reach productivity of 3140 tons. It is worth reminding that the joint Russian-Japanese enterprise JGC Evergreen launched the second phase of the greenhouse complex in the capital of the region, having increased their production area to 5 ha.
