Vegetables are pollinated by bees in the greenhouses of Ufa (Russia)

Information agency 'Bashinform', Alim Shredder.

Fresh vegetables of local production appeared in the shops of Ufa and the Republic. A considerable part of this production consists of cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers and eggplants of greenhouses of the Ufa, Tuimazinsky, Buzdjakskiy and Karmaskalinskiy regions. With that, many of the enterprises switch to growing eco produce, without application of chemical substances.

For instance, in the first branch of the greenhouse complex in collective farm "Alexeevskiy" of the Ufa region they grow mellittophilae cucumbers. Here they also grow eggplants on the area of two thousand square meters. The workers of the sixth department are engaged in growing tomatoes. Mainly varieties of Russian and Dutch breeding are presented. It is noteworthy that a Russian hybrid variety grown here was named after the T-34 tank. Of the Dutch varieties they mainly grow "Maxeza" and "Torero". Cherry tomatoes are grown for the fans of exclusive varieties.

According to the manager of the department Askhat Sharafutdinov, tomatoes, as well as cucumbers and eggplant are pollinated by bumblebees. This is the first sign that the produce is ecologically clean, because insects do not land on and do not pollinate the plants treated with chemicals.

The soil as such is not used in all the greenhouses now, all vegetables are grown in special substrates. Presently, this technology is used by all the leading farms of the world. It is easier to handle: it requires less watering, it is easier to maintain clean and sterile, which eliminates the possibility of diseases, control over the growth of plants and their nutrition become more efficient.

The same can be said about watering: only the low volume drip technology is used, the greenhouse complex switched to it seven years ago. Thanks to that, each plant has a balanced nutrition, and in addition, there is a saving on fertilizers. All nutrient solvents are calculated by specialists on computers.

"We are now getting familiar with photoculture. These are the cucumbers illuminated all day long, at night too. Of course, crops have increased with such technology", said the chief agronomist of the greenhouse complex Ulfat Mukhanov.

For pest control, the enterprise uses one more advanced technology – bioprotection. It presupposes that pests are not fought with chemicals but with the help of special insects, said the employee of the newspaper "Ufa Fields" Eduard Bikes.
