Territories occupied by greenhouses in Southern Kazakhstan will be increased by 200 ha, reported information agency Kazinform citing the press service of the local government.
Over 40 processing cooperatives will appear in Zhambyl region. The prime minister has conducted a meeting dedicated to agricultural development. Last year the territory occupied with the greenhouses was increased by 202 ha, 9% over the planned ha. On average, the greenhouse territory has reached 1324 ha. Thus, the overall country ratio of South Kazakhstan has comprised 80%.
The governor of Zhanseit area Mr Touymebajev has instructed the leaders of the respective sphere to increase the territory occupied by the greenhouses by another 200 ha in 2018.
With that, the largest part of the greenhouses is situated in Saryagash area – 72.21 ha, Kazygour area – 29 ha, Turkestaan – 18.27 ha, Oldabasin area – 16.05 ha.
A biggest greenhouse complex Adel operates in the region. Overall investments in this project that started within the development program Agribusiness 2020 reached 13.5 mln Euro. The complex covers the territory of 16 ha and grows annual crop of 8.4 tons. 70% of products are sold to the internal market and 30% are exported to Russia.
The greenhouse of Kazygour area specializes in tulips. Overall territory of the greenhouse is 2.5 ha, investment in the project were a little over 30,000 Euros. Last year the enterprise has grown 45,000 production pieces. In accordance with the data of the local statistical department, regional greenhouses in 2017 have picked 114.3 tons of vegetables, including 62.6 thousand tons of tomatoes and 51.7 thousand tons of cucumbers.
