September 25-26, Johannesburg

Commercial indoor farming in Africa and its cities

Following the success of the first International Urban Agri Summit in Johannesburg last year, the second edition of the Summit will be returning to Johannesburg on 25-26 September. The organizers will soon be rolling-out the 2018 agenda following their research and consultation with the various Departments of Agriculture in key African countries and international innovators across the private sector.

Here is a glimpse of the exciting topics that will be covered this year:
  • New African Market Opportunities in Urban Farming
  • How to Apply and Scale-Up Urban Agriculture through Innovative Technologies
  • What is the Commercial Future for Indoor Farming in Africa?
  • Creating New Markets for Vertical Farming and Optimising the Supply Chain
  • Financing Models to Consider for the African Landscape
  • Investment and Cost Issues in New Technologies, New Markets, Sustainability, Suitable and Appropriate Infrastructure
  • Controlled Environment Growing – the Challenges
  • Startups and Youth in Urban Farming
The event is a platform where international experiences and ideas are shared, influencing opportunities and overcoming barriers to the growth of the CEA (controlled environment agriculture) market.
