"NL: "Custom lights: more light where we need it"
In the new greenhouse Gertjan van der Spek, owner of Solyco, chose to start a cooperation with Lionz Light for the implementation of a very special lighting concept in this greenhouse. “After long consultation, and through the use of the Lionz Custom Made Grow Light concept a completely new vision of tomato lighting arose. We're realising the highest light efficiency ever,” says Gertjan.
By adjusting the armatures and creating a custom-sized reflector, the light fixtures are designed for this project. “Both installation and startup went very smoothly, and we are already harvesting the first tomatoes. From the recent independent light test report we see that the theory translates to practice, we have a significantly higher light level above the gutter compared to the path area, so only the light where we need it. With efficiency differences of up to 10%, we expect this new concept to translate into higher production per m2.”
