Double Diamond Farms grows organic sector in Canada

Double Diamond Farms is expanding its acreage this season with the launch of an organic cucumber facility in Kingsville, ON. This development will significantly increase Double Diamond’s organic production and the growth and distribution of additional certified organic items will follow.

"The demand for organic produce has increased exponentially and we are proud to be able to respond to our customers and provide a forward-thinking and local solution,” states Chris Mastronardi, President/CEO, Double Diamond Farms. “Consumers are looking for fresh organic options and convenience. We are confident that our new range will meet these needs and set the stage for future organic growth.”

The state-of-the-art greenhouses use advanced and innovative sustainable methods including capturing and utilizing carbon dioxide to promote growth, introducing bumblebees for natural pollination and employing energy curtains as insulation. Double Diamond products are 100% recyclable or biodegradable, certified as Non-GMO, and accredited in food safety.

“Sustainable agriculture is very important to us at Double Diamond Farms,” shares Mastronardi. “We are always looking for new ways to preserve the environment; growing our own organic produce is the next step towards reducing our ecological footprint.”
