Levan Davitashvili visiting Teshuva Agricultural Projects (TAP) demo farm in Olesh and being shown around by Uzi Teshuva, Chairman of TAP
According to the Minister of Agriculture, the Agricultural Projects Management Agency through state support plans to implement one of the largest projects in the country, to establish a large greenhouse association, which will be positioned as a regional hub for producing and distributing various vegetable crops and herbs.
‘’Israel is regarded as one of the leading countries in terms of the modern greenhouses and production of different products. It is important for us, that Israel shares its experience in creation of greenhouses; introduction of modern technologies, provision of effective irrigation and organised logistic systems,” Levan Davitashvili said.
Within the framework of the visit, a meeting was held with the represemntatives of the Israel Export and International Cooperation Institute (IEICI), where different Israelian companies (OAPI, Yamko, Netafim, Dagan Agricultural Automation, Azrom and Teshuva Agricultural Projects TAP) together with the members of the Georgian delegation took part. The heads of these companies presented presentations, and provided Georgian guests with the activities of their companies, including introduction of new technologies in agriculture, diversification of markets and marketing activities in detail.
The Minister of Agriculture of Georgia, together with the Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Yuri Nozadze, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel, Paata Kalandadze, the Director of the Agricultural Project Management Agency, Mamuka Kvaratskhelia, Director of the Agricultural Scientific Research Center, Levan Ujmajuridze and the Head of the Food and Agriculture Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Tengiz Kalandadze attended meetings.
During the visit, the Minister of Agriculture, Levan Davitashvili held a meeting with the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of the State of Israel, Uri Ariel.
