'On the way to PlanetProof' replaces Milieukeur as of 1.1.2019

SMK has decided to definitely replace the quality marker Milieukeur for natural products with the new name 'On the way to PlanetProof'. This new name was introduced earlier this year and has already received a lot of positive responses. The new name can already be used instead of Milieukeur.

The decision to change the name means the following:

Up to and including December 31 2018 the name Milieukeur can still be used.
New quality mark holders can immediately opt for certification for On the way to PlanetProof.
As of January 1 2019 it will only be possible to apply On the way to PlanetProof for natural products.
To make the switch easier the tariffs for payment for PlanetProof and Milieukeur have been equalised as of October 1 2017 to conform to the lower tariffs for Milieukeur. These tariffs will remain equal in 2018.
Existing quality marker holders that already have the PlanetProof certificate won't be charged extra to use it.
Existing quality marker holders of Milieukeur who want to apply PlanetProof this year, should have an administrative check done by their certification institution.

SMK assumes that this eliminates confusion and clarifies the existence of the two names at the same time.
