De Rond Agro, a Dutch family business that is specialized in the cultivation of rhubarb now greenhouse grown rhubarb. "Thanks to a tight cultivation schedule, we can produce rhubarb 11 months a year," said grower Rob de Rond. "From October to May, we deliver from the greenhouse and/or plastic tunnel. In the summer months we harvest from the open field. Besides that we also breed our own varieties so we can meet the demands of our customers even better."

Rhubarb is for many a ‘forgotten vegetable’. During the winter the rhubarb is mostly exported to countries like Great Britain, Canada, Austria and Switzerland. In the summer months, rhubarb is also found in Dutch supermarkets.
