On the 22nd of September 2017, Hazera and a local distributor organized an open day to showcase Hazera’s red tomato variety 3944. About 280 visitors participated in the event.
3944 is a red tomato variety introduced by Hazera specially for the Xichang area, based on the requests of the local market and climate conditions – cool summer with rain. 3944 that is grown in summer and transplanted at the end of June – beginning of July is characterized by vigorous growth, high yield, average fruit weight of 230 grams, healthy plants, and good disease resistances. The average yield is about 10-12 ton per mu (666 MM). The fruit quality is good, and the variety was warmly welcomed by growers and fruit dealers.
