CAN (MB): Conviron hosts Youth CEO program

On July 17 Conviron hosted fourteen participants from the Youth CEO program at its Winnipeg headquarters. The Youth CEO program is a Business Council of Manitoba (BCM) initiative launched in 2017 to support indigenous, new Canadian and underserved youth. The program aims to:
  • Provide youth with training and work experience with Council companies
  • Expose youth to the opportunities that exist in the business community
  • Expose companies and business leaders to the future workforce
Fourteen youth participants and the BCM’s Vice President, Kevin Chief, toured the Conviron manufacturing facility to learn more about the processes and technology behind Conviron’s plant growth chambers, rooms and control systems.

Youth from Winnipeg Aboriginal Sport Achievement Centre and Kevin Chief join Steve Kroft in a Conviron plant growth room.

“I am very impressed with the caliber of youth that have been selected to participate in this worthwhile initiative and am pleased that Conviron can play a role in helping to train and inspire the next generation”, said Steve Kroft, Conviron’s President & CEO.

Youth participants learn more about Conviron's manufacturing, testing and R&D processes.

Conviron will also have the opportunity to host two members of the group for a more in-depth work experience over the course of one week. Following a week of hands on experience, each participant will share with the group what they have learned from their work placement.
