China, Russia ink MoU on agricultural cooperation

Under the witness of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin, Minister Han Changfu and his Russian counterpart Alexander Tkachev signed a Memorandum of Understanding on furthering cooperation in agriculture in Moscow on 4 July 2017.



The two heads of states highly recognized agricultural cooperation as a priority area and a new highlight of China-Russia cooperation. Under the MOU, China and Russia shall deepen practical cooperation in agricultural S&T, agricultural investment and trade, animal health and plant disease and pest control.

Minister Han also held a bilateral meeting with Russian agrarian minister Alexander Tkachev in Moscow on 5 July 2017. The two sides exchanged views on the implementation of the consensus between the two heads of states on cooperation in agriculture.

Accompanied by Alexander Tkachev and Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Minister Han attended and addressed the agroindustrial exhibition under the "All-Russia Field Day - 2017" in Kazan, and toured some stands of agribusinesses.
