Spain: Planasa invests in innovative glass greenhouse in Navarre

Planasa has acquired a 10 hectare greenhouse in Milagro in order to acclimatise the laboratory plants for the subsequent production of fruit. Besides, the company will also build a 600 square metre in-vitro production centre in the same area.

In its quest to maintain its growth policy, Planasa is now investing in the purchase of this innovative glass greenhouse, which will allow it to further investigate aspects about the health of its plants; an aspect that will positively affect the productivity and quality of the fruit obtained. "We always say that we are an innovative company devoted to the horticultural sector. The purchase of this greenhouse will allow us to continue standing out and improving our production methods," assures Alexandre Pierron-Darbonne, president of Planasa.

Planasa's growth policy will be sustained by this new purchase and the construction of a 600 square metre laboratory associated with it. This new in-vitro production centre will allow Planasa to have a greater integration and control of the production processes of its species. "We will equip it with the latest technology in order to give a boost to the quality of our plants."

Thanks to this action, Planasa will once again contribute to generate employment and wealth in Navarre, which is the region where the company, which already operates in the five continents, has its central offices (in Valtierra). "Giving a push to the local economy and creating jobs in our region gives us great satisfaction," concluded Pierron-Darbonne.

The new laboratory is expected to host the first plantation around the months of September and October.
