Blossom end rot encountered in Dutch peppers

In the past few weeks, the production of greenhouse products has been high. During the "summer period" in May, tomatoes were of excellent quality. Attractive, shiny and sturdy fruit that practically sold itself.

Peppers were also of good quality. It is a pity that we have encountered blossom end rot in the past few weeks. Fortunately, commercial channels reacted positively. These peppers will now be watched extra carefully. If growers sort quickly, this crisis will be over soon. We must be frugal with such a good product. They are exported all over the world (Japan, the USA and, hopefully, China) so the quality must be top notch.

We do not have much to say about aubergines: no problems and an excellent product. The picture we get about cucumbers is generally good. Their quality, however, differs. There are older ones, ones with less colour and form and ones with nice dark fruit stems.

Field vegetables are available in abundance on the market. There are a lot of iceberg lettuces available in the leafy vegetable sector. Good dry weather ensured excellent quality and form. Nice solid heads with very little problems.
