Egypt: Dutch embassy visits Rijk Zwaan Mena Field Days

Dutch Ambassador H.E. Laurens Westhoff and the agriculture counselor Ir. Joost Geijer have been invited to the Rijk Zwaan field day trip to their station in Saleheya.

Rijk Zwaan is one of the leading Dutch companies in the seeds technology field. They have been investing in the Egyptian market since 1995.

In 2009, the company decided to expand in Egypt and open its own branch and breeding station. This decision happened due to the potential in the local market and to own an on-ground station that caters to the demands of local varieties with regional climate and diseases in mind and to benefit the whole region.

The aim of this station is to minimize the risk and maximize quality by testing the seeds under different conditions before selling.
