In the photo: the patented S.I.A. system
S.I.A. Srl produces and distributes technical solutions for agriculture, focusing on the development of new methods and systems to improve crop conditions, especially in greenhouses.
"The traditional technique for greenhouse plants is made up of nylon strings connected to wire crosspieces. They are then hooked to the trunk or main branches. This enables plants to develop more evenly, though it requires time and resources leading to increased production costs", explains Alessandro Avarino, owner of S.I.A. Their Ideal Tutor system aims at replacing the traditional technique.
The system is made up of a polyethylene string structure used to tie the most popular greenhouse crops (tomatoes, aubergines, peppers, etc.).
It is very versatile and can be provided in a variety of setups with multiple string lengths and hooks.
"The system is patented and provided in reels. The total height and distances between vertical strings is predetermined. The reel is then unwound and anchored with hooks and rods."
"We received good feedback from operators, who consider it a good technical solution to improve greenhouse cultivation."
In order to meet multiple production demands in crops where plant growth is undetermined, the system can be coupled with Ideal Tutor Dinamico. It is essentially the same system with a modular addition that can be adjusted up to three times depending on plant height to make them grow a further 90-180 cm."
