Pelemix opens Chinese branch office and warehouse

Chinese indoor growers are facing serious challenges of low yields and poor quality due to lack of proper crop rotation management. According to Pelemix, the introduction of soilless hydroponic technology in general, and the use of coco coir in particular, is the only way to turn around this challenging situation.

Substrate manufacturer Pelemix recognized this need for several sectors, like vegetables, soft fruits, nurseries and cut flowers in China, already a few years ago. With sales already in several provinces, Pelemix has recently decided to expand the exposure and availability of its products all over China by launching its Chinese branch.

Pelemix and Orang-Dragon, a Chinese based company, launched their Joint-Venture last February, with an office in Shanghai and a warehouse for stock of its products in Qingdao, Shandong.

During the last IPM in Shanghai, Pelemix introduced a large range of coco based products and attracted attention in the show, not only for offering its products but also for showing proved experience in several sectors, presenting a local team which can speak Chinese to its client and the professional supporting team.

Mr. Eran Yaron, who is managing the operation, expects the Chinese market to grow in large numbers during the coming few years, believing that Pelemix will have a leading role in the coco coir market development in China. Mr. Yaron believes that keeping close relations with the local customers and providing fine products in real time, are the key factors for success.

Dr. Tian, chief agronomist of the Chinese operation, believes it will take some time for the Chinese grower to adapt to new methods of growing soilless, but he trusts the Chinese wisdom will ease the learning curve, especially when growers will realize the fast return on investment, when using coco coir for higher yield and improved quality.
