Air freight of Turkish tomatoes to become a reality

Tomato producers in Turkey will have the opportunity to ship their products on the day they are harvested to international markets, especially Gulf and European countries, as well as the Far East, thanks to a new air cargo service to be implemented in the coming days.

Talks on air cargo between exporters and Turkish Airlines are expected to lead to the signing of an agreement after the discussions on prices and destinations are completed. As a result of this, fresh fruits and vegetables will be shipped on the day they are harvested to international markets.

The head of the Aegean region's Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters Union said they had forwarded their request to Turkish Airlines officials last month.
