Customers outraged after Asda stopped selling loose fruit & veg

Many customers are outraged after Asda stores in some areas have stopped selling loose fruit and vegetables. Customers see it as a waste of packaging and prefer to buy their produce loose, and took their anger to social media.

In a tweet to Asda, Jonathan Bowdin wrote: ‘Yo @Asda colne [in Lancashire]. Where’s all your loose fruit and veg gone? I don’t want a bag of carrots.’

It’s not clear whether Asda have stopped selling loose vegetables across the country or just in some parts of the country. However, it is definitely an issue in Bristol, Colne in Lancashire, and Manchester.

Dave Morrow, from Manchester, tweeted: ‘It is true. I shopped in Asda Radcliffe on Friday and it was all pre-bagged, and no loose veg.’
