China: Yanbian seizes 16 kg of radish seeds

On 6 May, inspectors from the Yanbian Inspection and Quarantine Bureau office at the airport found 16 kilograms of radish seeds from the checked luggage belonging to a passenger arriving from Korea. The passenger confirmed that the seeds were bought in Korea and were worth over $2000. They were supposed to be brought back to China for the large scale cultivation of radish. Due to a lack of official inspection and approval procedures, the seeds were intercepted and shall be returned within a limited time frame.
