Australia: Hort Connections about to kick off

Hort Connections 2017 kicks off on Monday 15 May at the Adelaide Convention Centre, with an unprecedented number of delegates and exhibitors coming together under the one roof.

The event is the inaugural combination of the National Horticulture Convention and PMA Fresh Connections. Hort Connections is the premier opportunity for growers, supply chain organisations and industry stakeholders in the fresh produce and floral industry to see the latest in technology and innovation, hear from industry experts, meet leading local and global agribusinesses and network at the most highly anticipated social events on the industry’s calendar.

“Hort Connections 2017 is the best opportunity to learn from the industry’s top researchers and thought leaders and will provide growers, packers, retailers, wholesalers and everyone through the supply chain with the information and networks they need to grow their businesses,” said AUSVEG CEO James Whiteside.

Conference speakers have been selected to cover the most pertinent issues for the entire industry, ranging from technology and big data to marketing and innovation. Special guest speakers include Senator the Hon. Anne Ruston, Assistant Minister for Agriculture and Water Resources and beyondblue Chairman and former Victorian Premier The Hon. Jeff Kennett AC, who will headline a panel forum on mental health.

Keynote sessions will be presented by Monash University’s ACRS Managing Director, Sean Sands, who will discuss opportunities to maximise value by designing customer-facing innovations and Jaquie Scammell from Jaquie Scammell Management Consulting who will highlight the importance of putting people into the heart of the food pyramid.

“The Hort Connections Trade Show offers delegates the chance to meet with over 200 local and global industry partners from across every sector of the industry to get a look at the latest trends, technologies and services that can give your business an edge in both productivity and profitability. With over 10 social events also on the program, Hort Connections really is the premier event to grow your business, foster new relationships and build a strong support network,” said PMA Australia-New Zealand CEO Darren Keating.
