It’s now five months ago that Arjan Pauw joined Gavita International. Having first worked for nine years in steel structures and subsequently another nine years at GE Jenbacher, he ended up at Gavita. Arjan Pauw loves to work at Gavita and is positive about the company. So he says: "Gavita, although over 30 years old, is a very dynamic organization with a young team, an approachable company with a lot of passion for the product." How that is evident? "The team is working closely together and everyone is willing to help each other. Everything is quite natural here, that's the mentality of Aalsmeer. The customer comes first, needs to be helped, and everyone knows that."
What's so nice about working in horticulture? "The world is so big, and yet you always meet acquaintances from the industry." Pauw says that last week he was in Russia. In a nursery, a seven hours drive from Moscow, in the middle of nowhere, he again come across a familiar face. "It does not matter where in the world you are, you almost always will encounter a Dutchman from the horticulture.
Production
Gavita is an international company with offices all around the world. The company is established in Norway, Canada, Russia, Ukraine and the Netherlands. In the Netherlands, in Aalsmeer, is the corporate headoffice of Gavita. In Norway and Canada also a small part of the production takes place, but most of it is done in the Netherlands.
Gavita has its own Research and Development department. The innovation team of Gavita is continuously striving to improve the current products and to develop new products. For this, Gavita has appointed an Innovation Centre. "The innovation team is working hard and also in the future new products will be introduced; everything around us keeps changing. So our products must change as well.”
