Bulgaria: Only wholesale tomato prices rose this week

Bulgaria's State Commission on Commodity Exchanges and Markets (CCCTB) announced that the Market Price Index fell this week by 0.76% to 1.477%.

Greenhouse tomatoes grown in Bulgaria have become 1.6 percent more expensive and are sold for 2.60 Lev* per kilo, while the price of imported greenhouse tomatoes has increased by 6.2 per cent to 2.05 Lev per kilo. Meanwhile, Bulgarian greenhouse cucumbers have become 9.6 percent cheaper and cost 2.17 Lev per kilo, and the price of imported ones has fallen by 6.7 percent, down to 1.95 Lev per kilo.

Potatoes are slightly cheaper and currently cost 0.72 Lev per kilo in the wholesale market. At the same time, carrots are sold for 1.03 Lev per kilo and cabbage is traded for a wholesale price of 0.61 Lev per kilo. Also, the price of lettuce has dropped by 10.3 per cent, down to 0.61 Lev per unit, while radishes have become 20.6 percent cheaper.
