New 25-liter bucket for hydroponic blueberries

Especially for growing blueberries, Bato Plastics B.V. from Zevenbergen, the Netherlands, developed a new pot. "It is a square 25-litre pot with a stable base and a pleasing solidity to it. It will last for years," says Hans Luijkx, Sales Manager at Bato.

Blueberries are full of healthy nutrients such as antioxidants, fibre, vitamin C and folic acid. What's more: scientific research shows that blueberries break down fat cells and prevent the creation of new ones. No wonder they are so popular, and worldwide production is on the rise. Luijkx: "Especially on substrates, because of higher quality and better control options. It has optimal volume and excellent drainage, for easier controlling and limiting substrate sagging to the minimum. In short: more fruit per m2, and of better quality."

There are two varieties available: one with a 100% grid bottom and five feet, and one with a cross-bottom equipped with drain holes. Interested? Contact Hans Luijkx at Hans@bato.nl.
