US (CA): 58% yield increase in Nature's Source vineyard trial

The Nature’s Source technical team released results from a recent vineyard trial in Monterey county, California. Chula Vina – Premium Vineyard is a certified sustainable company in Chualar Canyon. As part of the trial, their agriculture team’s objective was to evaluate the effects of Nature’s Source Organic Plant food 3-1-1 on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wine grapes.

The formula was applied at 10 gallons per acre through a drip irrigation system in early Spring 2016, and included a control group of Grower Standard Program. The results showed an impressive yield tonnage increase of 58%. In addition, analysis confirmed the plants were able to support the increased yield, and that the grape quality standards were achieved for this high-value wine.

“Getting such a robust harvest at the Chula Vina vineyard shows how adding Nature’s Source plant food can have a positive impact,” says Chance Finch, General Manager of Ball DPF, LLC. “We are proud to offer sustainable and organic ag companies an option for their plant nutrition.”
