"Greenhouses to push imported vegetables out of Moscow Region"

"More than 140,000 tons of protected ground vegetables are to be grown in the Moscow Region by 2020," said Andrey Razin, Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Moscow Region.

The existing shortage of fresh vegetables is expected to be eliminated by further development of greenhouse vegetable growing in the Moscow Region.

According to the plans of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Moscow Region, 33,000 tons of protected ground vegetables are to be grown in heated greenhouses in 2017. Increase in vegetable growing is to be 12,000 tons as compared to that in the previous year due to implementation of new investment projects on construction of modern greenhouse complexes. It is planned to grow 140,000 tons of fresh vitamin-containing products such as cucumbers and tomatoes by 2020.

Can agribusinesses count on state support? How to sell your crop for more money? What breakthroughs are Russian breeders inventing? Is the future of agribusiness in cooperation? Participants will discuss these and other issues in the course of roundtables as part of the Forum VegCult 2017 which will be held on April 4–5 in the House of the Moscow Region Government.
