Production doubled to 8 hectare:

Belgium: More acreage with Sweet Palermo

Last Friday the first Belgian sweet pointed peppers of the year were auctioned at Belorta. These peppers were grown by Grobar in Berlaar and were purchased by Belgian Fresh Food for a price of € 5.00 per kilogram.

Doubling of production

Last year about 1 million kilograms of Sweet Palermo were marketed. This year BelOrta expects to double the production with an increase in the acreage to a total of eight hectares. On this acreage both red, yellow and green as well as orange color varieties are grown.

Range of packaging options

The Sweet Palermo as a standard is offered per 2.5 kilogram. However, beside the standard packaging also bags, trays, flow packs and a lot of other options are possible. Moreover, the Sweet Palermo is also available as a grill pack (including olive oil and herbs).
