German mounting solution for greenhouse solar PV systems debuts in China

The Schletter Group has installed its newly developed mounting solution for greenhouse solar PV systems for the first time in China. A 20 MWp large-scale photovoltaic system was installed for the "Jiangs-North Greenhouse Project" in a vegetable cultivation plant in the province of Sihong for the project developers, Nanjing QDC. The project was preceded by extensive collaboration with the authorities responsible for the product authorisation and certification.

"The Greenhouse Project in Sihong represents a successful product launch in a growth market, in which we already have a strong presence", said Florian Roos, general manager of Schletter China. "Our innovative mounting solutions have a huge potential there and not only in the interesting segment of greenhouse solar PV systems."

The newly developed greenhouse mounting system is particularly easy and quick to install. The greenhouses are installed as modular systems, which only require a small number of fasteners. The improved fitting accuracy of the individual components saves time during the installation. In addition, there is a new functional design with a particularly thin head assembly and integrated roof fasteners. The system bears a higher static load (especially wind and snow loads) than the local solutions commonly used to date.

"We were able to achieve a very high product quality while adhering to the smallest production tolerances through a new manufacturing method, coordinated quality management and IT-supported engineering", said Roos. This also convinced the client, "Nanjing QDC", and the Chinese authorities, with whom Schletter collaborated to obtain certification. A further 30 MW large-scale system is to be installed by the Schletter Group over the coming months.

The Schletter plant in Shanghai was responsible for the delivery and mounting of the greenhouse systems. The Schletter Group is represented there with a large production area of 17,000 square metres and 450 employees. In addition to China, the Schletter Group has production facilities in the USA, Canada and South Africa as well as an international network of service and distribution companies. The Group is on an international growth path and is currently implementing projects with clients on all continents.
