Australia: Williamtown’s ‘Maria’s Farm Veggies’ for sale

Colliers International, on behalf of KordaMentha, has been instructed to offer 183 Cabbage Tree Road, Williamtown - Maria’s Farm Veggies – for sale via an International Expression of Interest campaign.

The sale process is being negotiated by Jesse Manuel and Richard Royle from Colliers International’s Rural & Agribusiness division. “A unique opportunity exists to acquire a partially constructed ‘high tech’ hydroponic glasshouse project that has the potential for 16.4 hectares (approx.) of production area under glass plus 2 hectares (approx.) of packing, cooling and technical services,” said Richard Royle, Director, Rural & Agribusiness at Colliers International.

“The infrastructure and packing facility design also allows for the glasshouse to be duplicated in time to double the size of the operations (subject to approvals).”

The Maria’s Farm Veggies property presents an extremely rare opportunity for food and agribusiness industry participants and investors to secure specialised intellectual property and world-class greenhouse technology in a partially complete glasshouse facility in New South Wales, Australia.

“The glasshouse project is at an advanced stage (approximately 50% complete) with piling works completed, in ground works largely finalised and the superstructure substantially erected with glazing works well underway,” said Jesse Manuel, Associate Director, Rural & Agribusiness at Colliers International.

“On completion the glasshouse will be the closest to the Sydney market, located on an established transport corridor and less than 5km to Newcastle Airport.”

The opportunity presents an ideal platform for potential buyers to establish themselves as a major player in high-tech, hydroponic vegetable production.
Incorporating leading Dutch technology and world best standards for glass houses, Maria’s Farm Veggies will be a significant contributor to the local economy.

The Maria’s Farm Veggies property comprises a partially completed, 16.4 hectare greenhouse facility with versatile cropping capabilities on a site area of 83 hectares (approx.) The original plan for the glasshouse was for tomato and cucumber production to service the domestic market, however, there is the flexibility for this to be changed depending on the demand.

Considerable investment has already been made in developing the property to its current state and it now requires a purchaser with vision to complete this major project. Upon completion, the glasshouse has forecasted production of nearly 14,000 tonnes of premium vegetables per annum with a near ‘seasonless’ production profile.
