Ruben Lensing is one of the export managers in the team. He grew up in the Dutch flower bulb region and via the bulbs he initially ended up in New Zealand before moving to the United States. After spending some time away from the agricultural sector he now feels very much at home again at Sudlac.
He spends 25 to 30 per cent of his time travelling for his work. His colleagues also travel quite a lot. The team ensures that there is always someone present locally to answer questions. We communicate via every kind of media that you can use. We do not just call someone on the phone but we also contact them via Whatsapp, e-mail, LinkedIn, etc.”, Lensing adds.
Seeking cooperation
“We have good products and a large customer network that distributors can use. We find it important to have personal contact. That is why we prefer to visit our partners. We support them by answering technical questions and, if necessary, we consult the laboratory at the French headquarters. We visit exhibitions together with our distribution partners and support them with their marketing activities which are tailored to their local market”, says the export manager.
Part of a good service is a product that can quickly be delivered. The material is in stock in the Netherlands and France. For the domestic market the following rule applies: orders before 12 noon are delivered the next day. This does not apply to the foreign markets, of course, given the distance, but the orders are nevertheless immediately prepared and shipped.
