Sharing knowledge crucial for hort development in Southeast Asia

The second day of the Horti Asia trade show at the BITEC exhibition centre in Bangkok, Thailand, was marked by participation from incoming delegations and a special series of presentations at the knowledge sharing DLG platform.

Right after the opening of the trade show floor, a number of large groups with visitors from Japan and Vietnam visited the trade show. With the help of special translators and trade show guides, they had a chance to learn more about the latest technological developments and innovative solutions for tropical climate protected agriculture. As well as this, more Thai visitors found their way to the BITEC during the second day. Again exhibitors were pleased with the amount and above all, the quality of the visitors.

Arjen Janmaat of Ridder / HortiMaX gave a presentation on smart, adaptive irrigation and climate control.

Next to this, a special series of presentations were given at the DLG Forum. The platform, which is sponsored and co-organized by the German AgriTechnica trade fair organizer DLG, provided a broad selection of introduction presentations on the advances of greenhouse and other smart agricultural technologies. The Forum discussed current trends and challenges in Southeast Asian horticulture and showed that knowledge transfer will become a crucial factor to take advantage of the opportunities that lie on the Asian agricultural horizon.

Stay tuned for more updates and reports from Horti Asia in the coming days!
