RPP certificate for Greenyard Horticulture

For years, Greenyard Horticulture has been a pioneer when it comes to the production of sustainable and eco-friendly growing media. Very recently, these efforts were rewarded by obtaining the ‘Responsibly Produced Peat’ certificates (RPP) for its production sites in Poland (Budwity) and Latvia (Brigu). These RPP certificates guarantee that the peat used in the growing media of Greenyard originates from sustainable sources.

The RPP certification takes into account the minimal impact on hydrological and climate change parameters, in addition to the biodiversity of the site. Furthermore, after-use plans and site rehabilitation to its natural state are thoroughly examined. This way Greenyard guarantees that the peat used in their growing media has minimal impact on its surroundings and the environment. By achieving these certificates, Greenyard further strengthens its sustainable vision in the organization.

“Peat is an important raw material for the production of high-quality growing media and we want to manage it in a responsible and sustainable way”, Stefaan Vandaele MD of Greenyard horticulture. “Since years the sustainable production of peat is essential in our business operations. We are thus extremely proud to obtain the RPP certificates.”
