Canada: Workshop on Controlled environment agriculture in Alberta

The Lit Up: Controlled Environment Agriculture in Alberta workshop takes place on March 22, 2017, at the Agriculture Business Centre, 6547 Sparrow Drive in Leduc.

“Vertical farming, replacement light growing, call it what you will, but CEA is hot in Alberta,” says Dustin Morton, commercial horticulture specialist, Alberta Agriculture and Forestry. “This workshop will look at some of the need-to-know aspects of vertical farming, such as the state of the industry and lighting basics, and will also connect you to research and resources within AF and the City of Edmonton. It’s a great opportunity to meet other growers and connect into this growing industry.”

Start time for the workshop is 8:30 a.m. Cost is $10 plus GST and includes lunch. To register, call 1-800-387-6030. For more information, call Dustin Morton at 780-679-1314.
