Raid finds 27 illegal workers on Queensland strawberry farm

Australian Border Force officers say they have caught 27 foreign nationals working illegally at a strawberry farm west of Brisbane.

Officers from the ABF and Queensland Police raided the property near Stanthorpe early on Tuesday.

The raid came after police pulled over a car carrying four of the farm's workers last month.

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk was disappointed to hear about the illegal workers being employed at the farm.

"I want all businesses to do the right thing wherever possible," she said on Wednesday.

"And what that means is employing local people. Let's give local Queenslanders a go."
