Farmer’s Best expands pepper production

Farmer’s Best is expanding facilities in San Luis Potosí. In 2016, Farmer’s Best used approximately 74 acres there. In 2017, they are increasing production to approximately 500 acres with space for more Roma tomatoes, cucumbers and green bell peppers. Net houses will cover 72 percent of this new expansion and the rest will be open field.

The company also adds another item to their year-round product offerings: green bell peppers. The new addition joins Roma tomatoes and cucumbers that have been, and continue to be, available year-round.

With bell peppers available year-round and our farms continuing to grow, the company needed a bigger, better bell pepper sorter. Their recent purchase of an updated, state-of-the-art bell pepper sorting machine is now in use and has increased sorting efficiency by 28 percent.
