The global biostimulants market is achieving a truly remarkable growth in the field of plant health products. The industry is growing by close to 15% per year and this trend is expected to continue, as the global demand for a more sustainable agriculture and environmentally-friendly products is on the rise. However, this market still has important gaps from a legal and cultural point of view.
With the aim of bringing the biostimulants industry closer to the horticultural sector of the province, the conference 'Biostimulants Europe' is being held at the Tryp Indalo Hotel, in Almeria, on 30 November and 1 December. The event includes the participation of several personalities of great relevance within this emerging industry and will serve to discuss the multiple challenges and opportunities in this market, both present and future.
The conference features specialists in plant health, physiology and nutrition; experts in crop improvement and agricultural techniques; manufacturers of biostimulants, and producers of plant nutrition products; regulators, distributors and investors; as well as scientists and traders associations. In addition to providing a chance to listen to experts from all areas within the industry, the event brings also the opportunity to contact and exchange ideas with them.
The conference was planned to start with a review of the situation and a look at the development of the industry during the year 2016. Later, a number of topics will be addressed, such as the latest advances in crop technologies, the legal situation and regulations governing the biostimulants sector, EU certification schemes, trade prospects for manufacturers and growers beyond the European Union, new digital techniques for sustainable agriculture or trends in the biostimulants industry. The goal is also to raise awareness about these products and seek funding for the necessary R&D.
